This is my personal website to share thoughts on my main passion - arms & armour collecting and research.

I have been a dedicated collector of the African sword known as the takouba for many years. My interest in arms and armour started at a young age, originally for replica items within the sphere of Medieval European arms, but later my interests changed to antique examples. My main area of study is with the societies of West Africa and the Sahel which made use of heavily armed and armoured cavalry. Much like a European medieval ‘knight.’

I maintain the website http://takouba.org which is a detailed catalogue of not only my own collection but other collectors' pieces as well.

With my personal site, I prefer a more relaxed approach with the occasional gallery of a particularly interesting sword as well as thoughts on a variety of related topics.
